17th Century, Steeple Claydon, William Norman, Halfpenny, 1668, 1.45g/6h (Berry & Morley 158; BW. 117). Good fine, extremely rare, the only issue for this locality; only two other specimens in private hands known to the cataloguer (£100-150)

William Norman (†1700), grocer; his wife’s name was Jane. A signatory of the Orthodox Confession of 1679, Norman had been excommunicated in 1662 for non-attendance at his parish church, and was similarly indicted in 1682 and 1687
