Offered with its original ‘Surrender document’ or ‘Japanese Trophies’ permit from HQ Penang Sub Area, Malaya Command, dated December 1945 permitting the bearer Cpl. M. Marshall of 97 BM Provost unit to retain the sword as a war trophy.
