A Japanese dagger Aikuchi, the 24cm Koto blade of hira-zukuri form traces of suguha hamon single mekugi-ana, signed ‘Yoshu (no) ju nin Yasusada saku’ (Yasusada made this living at Yoshu) and dated ‘Gyoroku go nen nigatsu kichijitsu’ (one lucky day in 1532), copper-gilt habaki, unbound fish-skin covered tsuka with fixed sentoku menuki in the form of coiled dragons, polished horn fuchi-kashira, complete with its black lacquer saya with matching polished horn mounts, good condition £300-350
