An original Illuminated Address presented to General Sir George Stewart White, V.C., by the Mayor and Town Council of Durban, Natal

A coloured Illuminated Address from the Mayor and Town Council of Durban, Natal, dated 6 April 1900, bearing colour vignettes of Ladysmith, 4.7” gun, Union Jack etc, with a monotone portrait of Sir George, approx. 68 x 52cm., rolled and cased in a red card tube bearing an inscription, with an accompanying letter from the Town Clerk, Durban regarding its transmission, very good condition £300-500

Interestingly (and embarrassingly for the City of Durban) the name of ‘Ladysmith’ is misspelt ‘Ladismith’ throughout.
