Royal Navy L.S. & G.C., V.R., narrow suspension (E. Bound, Armourer, H.M.S. Trincomalee) impressed naming, good very fine £80-100

Enos Bound was born in North Stoneham, near Southampton on 17 September 1856. He joined the Royal Navy as Armourer’s Crew on 5 July 1877 and was promoted to Armourer in October 1881 on H.M.S. Diamond. Awarded the Royal Navy L.S. & G.C. in June 1890 when on H.M.S. Trincomalee. Appointed Acting Chief Armourer in March 1892 when at H.M.S. Excellent. Attained the rank of Chief Armourer in March 1893 when on H.M.S. Royal Sovereign. Died later the same year of an aneurism of the aorta.
