M.S.M. London Gazette 12 November 1920. ‘... for services in the Baltic in 1919’ ‘P.O. Percy William Bosworth, O.N. 211598 (Po.)’

Percy William Bosworth was born in Warwick on 16 June 1883. A Porter by occupation, he enlisted into the Royal Navy as a Boy 2nd Class on 17 September 1900 and was advanced to Boy 1st Class in December 1900. Serving on H.M.S.
Victorious he was promoted to Ordinary Seaman in June 1901 and Able Seaman in July 1902 (?). Serving on H.M.S. Britomart he was advanced to Leading Seaman in February 1910. During the war years, he served on H.M.S. Dreadnought, August 1911-February 1915 and was then based on Excellent, February 1915-October 1916, being promoted to Petty Officer in July 1915. He next served on the old battleship H.M.S. Implacable, August 1917-January 1918, before serving on the cruiser H.M.S. Caledon, January 1918-April 1921. Awarded the L.S. & G.C. in August 1916; awarded the M.S.M. for his services in the Baltic aboard Caledon in 1919. Attaining the rank of Chief Petty Officer in June 1923, he was pensioned and enrolled into the R.N.R. With copied service paper and gazette extract.
