Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 2 clasps, Relief of Kimberley, Orange Free State (3247 Pte. S. Moxon, 9/Lcrs.) unofficial connection between clasps, edge bruise, very fine £80-100

Samuel Moxon was born in Headingley, Leeds. A Groom by occupation, he attested for the 9th Lancers at Bradford on 29 April 1891, aged 19 years, 1 month. He was transferred to the Army Reserve in January 1897 but recalled to the Colours in November 1899. Served in South Africa, December 1899-October 1901. Transferred to the Army Reserve once more in April 1902, he was discharged in April 1903. With copied service papers and roll extracts - the above clasps confirmed; also entitled to ‘South Africa 1901’.
