Henry John Naish was born in Cardiff and enlisted in the Royal Army Medical Corps in September 1900, aged 28 years. A Policeman by profession, he was also a member of the Welsh Border Brigade Bearer Company, Volunteer Medical Staff Corps. He appears to have served in No. 14 Stationary Hospital in South Africa and was discharged in November 1901; sold with brief research
