Martin Emmerson was born in 1916 and enlisted at Durham on 27 April 1936. With the Green Howards he served in India, October 1937-April 1944 and N.W. Europe, June-December 1945. Transferred to the Army Reserve on 7 April 1946 and discharged on 23 September 1946.
