Daniel David Dunlop Crawford was originally a Private in the Nairobi Defence Force and later in the Cameron Highlanders. Commissioned into the Royal Engineers on 19 August 1916. 2nd Lieutenant Crawford, R.E., attached to the 25th Railway Company, died on 10 December 1917 and was buried in the Dar es Salaam War Cemetery. He was the son of Mrs Crawford, of 7 Braid Avenue, Morningside, Edinburgh.
