William John Charles Dovey, who was born in 1893, enlisted in the Royal Engineers in December 1915, aged 32 years, but was quickly placed on the Reserve. Mobilised in May 1916, he was posted to the 2/4th (Hampshire) Fortress R.E. at Southsea Castle and thence to the 516th (1st London) Reserve Company, R.E. In September 1917, he transferred to the 19th (Pioneer) Battalion of the Welsh Regiment, in which capacity he served in France, prior to re-transferring to the Royal Engineers. He was discharged in January 1919; sold with copied attestation and discharge papers, and service record.

Philip Edward Dolby enlisted in the Royal Garrison Artillery in December 1915 and was discharged in June 1918, aged 21 years. He was awarded the Silver War Badge’, No. 411 770; sold with copied S.W.B. roll entry.
