Ronald Spencer Robinson was born in Oxfordshire in September 1897 and was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant in the 1st (Reserve) Garrison Battalion, Suffolk Regiment, in April 1917. Official records confirm his subsequent participation in the North Russia operations of 1918-19 but he did not claim his British War and Victory Medals until October 1945, following further service as a Temporary Captain in his old regiment in the Second World War, services that were recognised by his entitlement to the 1939-45 Star and War Medal; sold with copied research.
