Star, unnamed copy; British War and Victory Medals (1728 Pte., Leic. Yeo.) good very fine (3) £60-80

Arthur Robert Fewkes enlisted into the Leicestershire Yeomanry on 16 December 1910. He entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 2 November 1914. Fewkes was wounded in action in May 1915 , suffering a gunshot wound to the right elbow. Initially admitted to No. 18 General Hospital, he was invalided to England. He attested once more into the Leicestershire Yeomanry in January 1916 and was appointed Squadron Quartermaster Sergeant in July 1916, though later reverted to a lesser rank. In November 1917 he transferred into the Labour Corps. With copied service papers and m.i.c. - which confirms the award of the 1914 Star and clasp.
