Three: Private G. Heley, West Yorkshire Regiment

1914 Star, with clasp (7747 Pte., 1/W. York. R.); British War and Victory Medals (7747 Pte., W. York. R.) some edge bruising, fine and better (3) £120-160

George Heley was born in York. A Farmer by occupation, he attested for the West Yorkshire Regiment on 25 November 1904, aged 20 years, 3 months. With the regiment he served in India, October 1905-December 1911. Transferred to the Reserve in May 1912. Recalled to the Colours in August 1914, he served in France from 8 September 1914. On 25 October 1914 he was admitted to hospital having suffered a gunshot wound to the right knee. Due to his wound he was discharged on 14 May 1915 and awarded the Silver War Badge (not with lot). With copied service papers, m.i.c. and roll extract.
