Three: Private Edward Quinn, 6th Dragoons, later 11th Hussars

Crimea 1854-56, 3 clasps, Balaklava, Inkermann, Sebastopol (E. Quinn. 6th Dragoons.) officially impressed naming; Army L.S. & G.C., V.R., small letter reverse (955. Edwd. Quinn. 11th Hussars.); Turkish Crimea 1855, Sardinian issue (957 E. Quinn, 6th Dragoons) named in contemporary running script, light contact marks, otherwise very fine or better (3) £800-1000

Edward Quinn was born in County Donegal and attested for the 6th Dragoons at Enniskillen on 3 October 1846, aged 20 years. He is shown in the muster rolls as being on active duty with his regiment for the whole of the quarter of the 1st October to the 31st December 1854, and it is most probable, therefore, that he took part in the famous charge of the Heavy Brigade at Balaklava. He transferred to the 11th Hussars on 1 November 1866 and was discharged from the service on 1 November 1870. Sold with copied discharge papers.
