U.N. Korea 1950-54, unnamed; General Service 1918-62, 1 clasp, Malaya, E.II.R. (Capt., R.A.E.C.), rank officially corrected, mounted as worn; together with a mounted pair of dress miniatures; Shooting medal, 32mm., bronze, reverse inscribed, ‘Royal Hampshire Regt. Best L.M.G. Shot J. Upton’, in card box, first with slight edge bruise, very fine and better (lot) £140-180

John Lawrence Upton, M.A. (Cantab.) was born on 16 March 1927. He served 127 days in the Royal Hampshire Regiment during which time his shooting ability earned him a shooting prize medal. He was commissioned into the Royal Army Education Corps on 25 November 1949, became a Captain in March 1953 and attained the rank of Major in March 1961. He retired in 1970 and died aged 82 years in Bury, Lancashire. Additionally with riband bar and R.A.E.C. and rank insignia.
