George Barton Crouch enlisted on 3 February 1910. As a Corporal in the 11th Hussars he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 15 August 1914. He was wounded in the right hand by shell-fire at Soupir, 16 September 1914. Having been placed in the 12th Reserve Cavalry Regiment, he was discharged as a result of his wounds on 30 November 1914.
