Pair: Private N. George, King’s Royal Rifle Corps

Egypt and Sudan 1882-89, undated reverse, 1 clasp, The Nile 1884-85 (1487 Pte., 1/K.R. Rif. C.); Khedive’s Star, 1884-6, unnamed, edge bruising and contact marks, about very fine (2) £180-220

William George was born in Clerkenwell, Middlesex. A Groom by occupation, he attested for service in the King’s Royal Rifle Corps at Southwark Police Court, aged 23 years, 3 months, having previously served in the 3rd Battalion East Surrey Regiment. In January 1884 he was posted to the 1st Battalion serving in Egypt where he served as mounted infantry in the Nile expedition, August 1884-March 1885. Transferred to the Army Reserve in October 1890 and discharged on 2 January 1896. With copied service papers and other research in folder.
