Pair: Bugler J. Millett, Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry

Egypt and Sudan 1882-89, dated reverse, 1 clasp, Tel-El-Kebir (142 Bugr., 2/D. of C.L.I.) claw a little slack, clasp re-riveted; Khedive’s Star, 1882, unnamed, some edge bruising and contact marks, about very fine (2) £200-240

James Millett was born in Plymouth, Devon. A Labourer by occupation and a former member of the South Devon Militia, he attested for the 35th Brigade of Infantry at Plymouth on 5 March 1878, aged 18 years, 4 months. Initially posted to the 32nd Light Infantry, he was transferred to the 46th Regiment in October 1878. With them he served in Bermuda, October 1878-February 1880; Gibraltar, February 1880-July 1882; Malta, July 1882, and Egypt, July 1882-June 1884. Transferred to the Army Reserve in June 1884, he was discharged on 4 March 1890. With copied service papers and roll extracts.
