Egypt and Sudan 1882-89, dated reverse, no clasp (Shaik Ibram, I.G.S. Amberwitch) naming engraved in running script; India General Service 1854-95, 1 clasp, Burma 1885-7 (Seacunny Sk. Ebram, H.[M].I.M.S. Sir W. Peel) minor official corrections to the first and one letter erased on second, edge bruising and contact marks, otherwise very fine and rare (2) £600-800
Served on Indian Government Ship Amberwitch during the Egypt Campaign of 1882 and H.M. Indian Marine Ship Sir William Peel during the Burma 1885-7 campaign.
13 medals issued to the European officers of the Amberwitch together with 63 medals to the Indian crew which were despatched to India unnamed, in order that they may be engraved upon arrival there.
A ‘Seacunny’ was a Navigator on a ship of the Royal Indian Marine.
