Army L.S. & G.C., W.IV.R. (Adam Barber, Serjeant, Grenadier Guards 1837) replacement silver hinge and straight bar suspension, contact marks, good fine £600-700

Adam Barber was born in Sheffield. He attested for the Grenadier Guards at Pontefract on 11 September 1816, aged 18 years. He had previously served as a Gunner in the Royal Horse Artillery from September 1815 before being discharged in April 1816 due to the reduction of the Army. Barber in the Grenadier Guards was promoted Corporal in February 1825 and Serjeant in May 1829. He was discharged on 31 March 1837. With copied discharge papers.
