Edwin Owen Knight was born in Liverpool on 16 May 1867. A Boilermaker by occupation, he enlisted into the Royal Navy as an Acting Engine Room Artificer 4th Class on 29 April 1889. Serving on Undaunted he was confirmed in that rank in April 1890 and advanced to E.R.A. 3rd Class in April 1892. Promoted to E.R.A. 2nd Class in April 1896 when on Colossus, C.E.R.A. 2nd Class in April 1898 when on Arrogant and C.E.R.A. 1st Class in March 1905 when at Vivid. Awarded the L.S. & G.C. Medal in 1904. Pensioned ashore in April 1911. With copied service paper.
