Lawrence Conway was born in Marylebone, London. A French Polisher by occupation, he attested at London on 1 March 1910, aged 18 years 2 months. Served in the Great War, was wounded with a gunshot wound to the chest and was awarded the 1914 Star trio of medals. As a Staff Serjeant he was discharged on 13 December 1931. Later awarded the M.S.M. With copied roll extracts.
