Coronation 1911, Police Ambulance Service (Dr. E. S. Tait) nearly extremely fine, scarce £400-460

Ernest Sutton Tait was born in Tenterton, Kent. A Dental Surgeon; he was employed by the Police Ambulance Service at the time of the 1911 Coronation. He attested for the R.A.M.C. at Winchester on 31 August 1914, serving as a Private, being promoted to Corporal in February 1915. He was discharged to a commission in the corps on 1 July 1915. As a Lieutenant he entered Gallipoli in September 1915. Later promoted to Captain in the R.A.M.C., he relinquished his commission whilst retaining his rank on 3 May 1919 (London Gazette 5 December 1919). Postwar he lived at Ovenden House, Tenterton, Kent.
