Canada General Service 1866-70, 2 clasps, Fenian Raid 1866, Fenian Raid 1870 (Sgt. A. Chambers, 1st Huntingdon I. Co.), extremely fine £500-600

Andrew Chambers is verified as being one of 57 men of the 1st Huntingdon Infantry Company who participated in the Fenian Raid operations of 1866; so, too, as one of 150 members of the 50th Battalion (The Huntingdon Borderers) during the troubles of 1870. Moreover, he was present at the action at Trout River on 27 May 1870, when his unit was deployed in skirmishing order and ‘advanced with great gallantry’ (Troublesome Times In Canada, by J. A. MacDonald, refers). As a consequence, the Fenians sustained losses of three killed and several wounded.
