Candahar Ghuznee Cabul 1842 (T. Williams, 40th Regt.) officially re-impressed, with steel clip (slack) and hinged straight bar suspension, good very fine £300-400

Thomas Williams was born in Clowna, Co. Clare. A Labourer by occupation he attested for the 40th Regiment at Ennis, Co. Clare on 25 April 1825, aged 25 years. With the regiment he served over 3 years in New South Wales and Van Daman’s Land and 10 years in the East Indies including service in the First Afghan War. Discharged unfit for further service in September 1843. With copied service papers and CD.
