Army of India 1799-1826, 1 clasp, Bhurtpoor (P. Howard, 14th Foot.) short hyphen reverse, officially impressed naming, edge bruising and contact marks, otherwise nearly very fine £800-900

Patrick Howard was born in the Parish of Kilrush, County Clare, and attested for the 98th Foot at Limerick on 11 October 1816, but was discharged on disbandment of the regiment on 29 September 1818. He then attested for the 14th Foot at Newport, Isle of Wight, on 16 April 1822, and served in the East Indies from January 1824 to June 1831. He was promoted to Corporal in August 1828 and to Sergeant in February 1836, whilst serving in the West Indies where he remained until April 1839. He landed at Gravesend on 21 August 1839 and was finally discharged on 27 September of the same year. Sold with copied discharge papers.
