France, Universal Exposition, Paris, 1900, Exercices Physiques et Sports, a plated bronze plaque by F.-C.-V. de Vernon, winged Victory showering branches over city of Paris, rev. male athlete on a podium, robed, holding a branch, 60 x 42mm (PBE 970; BDM VI, 243; BM Acq. 1978-82, p.49, 191; Gaz. Num. 1904, p.410, 102 and pl.viii; cf. Baudey/Bricher 1992, 45; cf. DNW 47, 1097). Very fine and toned, rare (£100-120)
