France, Faune Jouant avec un Bouc, 1883, a large uniface cast bronze medal by H.-A.-J. Patey, naked male faun playing a mouth-organ while holding a goat by its whiskers, 205mm (PBE –; BDM –; Cat. Godard, Paris, 1903, 77). Extremely fine and a very rare early work by this artist; set in an ornate black and gilt plaster frame [330mm], with loop on the back for suspension (£200-250)
