The 19th century mansion house of Kinnaird Castle, 3 miles south-east of Brechin, replaces earlier castles which were destroyed by fire in the 10th, 19th and 20th centuries. The castle is famed for its art collection, including works by Raphael, Murillo, Durer, Vandyck, Raeburn, Landseer and Lucas Cranach
