Charles I (1625-1649), Oxford mint, Crown, 1643, no mm., Shrewsbury horseman with ground-line below, plume (without bands) behind, group of five pellets [one missing] on rev., 29.78gm (Morr. A-2; SCBI Brooker 870, same dies; N 2405; S 2946A). Almost very fine, toned (£700-800)
