Auction Catalogue
British West Africa, Elizabeth II, Tenth-of-a-Penny, 1956 (Vice 303; KM. 32). Virtually mint state with full original colour, extremely rare £400-500
Despite an apparent mintage of 2.4 million pieces, these coins are extremely rare. To quote David Vice ‘(This coin) did not circulate a great deal...Although (its) existence has long been known with a specimen in the Royal Mint Museum, it was not until 1974 that an example was first discovered by a collector’
