Guatemala, Republic, Proof Centavo, 1929, edge plain, 6h (KM. 247; cf. Spink Australia 25, 1089; cf. Heritage 3031, 28748). Virtually as struck, obverse toned, reverse with some brilliance, very rare £400-500

Provenance: Despatched from London to Melbourne, 31 May 1930; Noble Numismatics Auction 91 (Melbourne), 21-3 July 2009, lot 2179 (part).

Slabbed in NGC holder, graded PF 64 RB. Six of these coins were sent from London to Melbourne, the others for onward distribution to institutions in Australasia. Adelaide cancelled their order with Melbourne at that point, and the coins imported for them “were sold to private collectors for ten shillings [each]”
