John Wood was born in Bradford, West Yorkshire and enlisted at Halifax. Serving in the 2nd Battalion West Riding Regiment he was killed in action, France/Flanders, on 28 October 1914. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Le Touret Memorial.
