Belgium, Inauguration of the Monument to Hubert and Jan van Eyck, Ghent, 1913, a uniface plated bronze plaque by J. Jourdain for Fonson, people queuing to present floral tributes to the two van Eyck brothers who are sat at the top of a podium, 84 x 56mm (Méd. Hist. III, 289; BM Acq. 1978-82, p.16, 75; BDM VII, 490). About extremely fine, toned, rare; in original red gilt-blocked fitted case of issue (£60-80)
