France, Agriculture, 1906, a bronze plaque by C.P. Pillet, Ceres accompanying two bullocks ploughing, led by a peasant, rev. seated figure under a tree contemplating a field of wheat, tablet at right engraved (Exposition Prades, 1929), 65 x 48mm (CGMP p.315; BDM IV, 537; BM Acq. 1983-7, pl.44, 110; ANS Exh. Cat. 1910, p.236, 1; cf. DW 19, 266). Good very fine; in red fitted case of issue (£40-60)
