Charles I (1625-1649), Crown, 1644, mm. rose, date to left of mm, French arms inverted, 27.66gm (Besly C15; RCL 8d; SCBI Brooker 1032-7, same obv. die; N 2557; S 3058). Legend a trifle double-struck on reverse at 8 o’clock, otherwise good very fine and attractively toned, a very rare reverse die (£500-700)
