Donald Mackinnon was born in Barony, Lanarkshire and enlisted at Glasgow. Serving with the 7th (Service) Battalion Seaforth Highlanders, he was killed in action on the first day of the battle of Loos, 25 September 1915. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Loos Memorial.
