Lance-Corporal Henry T. Omer, 4th Battalion Middlesex Regiment, entered France on 14 August 1914. Served in the 8th Infantry Brigade, 3rd Division, in Smith-Dorrien’s II Army Corps. At Mons on 23 August 1914 the 8th Brigade held the British right from Bois la Haut to Nimy. At Le Cateau they held the centre of the British line. In action again at Neuve Chapelle on 26 October 1914. With copied m.i.c. - clasp confirmed.
