Private James Lloyd, Cheshire Regiment, entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 16 August 1914. The unit was placed in the 15th Infantry Brigade, 5th Division, in Smith-Dorrien’s II Army Corps. At some stage Lloyd was captured and held as a prisoner-of-war. After repatriation at the end of the war, he was discharged on 31 May 1919 and awarded the Silver War Badge. With copied roll extract and m.i.c. - clasp confirmed.
