Private Joseph O’Neill, Irish Guards entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 13 August 1914. Served in the 4th Guards Brigade, 2nd Division, in Haig’s I Army Corps. The unit had its first serious action near Viller Cotterets, near Crepy, 1 September 1914. With copied m.i.c. - clasp confirmed.
