A Medal of the Order of the British Empire group of three awarded to Forewoman Agnes May Worsdall, Queen Mary’s Army Auxiliary Corps

Medal of the Order of the British Empire, (Military), unnamed; British War and Victory Medals (681 Fwn. A. M. Worsdall Q.M.A.A.C.); together with a W.A.A.C. cap badge, good very fine and better (4) £500-600

Medal of the O.B.E. London Gazette 23 January 1920. ‘... in recognition of valuable services rendered in connection with the War.’

Agnes May Worsdall was born in Leicester on 28 August 1892 and was educated at St. James’s High Grade School, Derby. Living at 9 Western Road, Derby and employed as a Head Clerk of Typing, she enrolled into the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps on 16 May 1917, aged 24 years. Posted to the Clerical Section, she was appointed Acting Assistant Forewoman in December 1917 and Forewoman in January 1918. Served in France, February-July 1918. Discharged on 20 October 1919. Awarded the Medal of the O.B.E. in 1920 for her wartime services. With copied service papers and m.i.c.
