Albert E. Kennett, a native of Folkestone, enlisted in the East Kent Regiment in September 1914. Embarked for France in the 8th Battalion in the following year, he was most likely awarded his M.M. in respect of the battles of Messines and Pilckem Ridge in June-July 1917.

Kennett was discharged on account of wounds on 27 October 1918, having latterly served in the 3rd Battalion, and was awarded the Silver War Badge; sold with copied research.
