A post-war C.B.E. group of six awarded to Captain R. P. Pratt, Royal Navy

The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, C.B.E. (Military) Commander’s 2nd type neck badge, silver-gilt and enamel, with neck cravat, in Garrard, London case of issue; 1939-45 Star; Africa Star, clasp, North Africa 1942-43; Burma Star; Defence and War Medals, these unnamed, medals mounted as worn, good very fine and better (6) £300-350

C.B.E.
London Gazette 13 June 1964 Production Manager H.M. Dockyard, Rosyth.

Ronald Percy Pratt served during World War Two with H.M.S.
Hornet, Coastal Forces base at Gosport. He was Engineering Manager at Portsmouth Dockyard 1957-60 and at Rosyth 1960-64; Assistant Director, Royal Naval Engineering Services, 1964-69, as Production Manager, H.M.S. Dockyard Rosyth. He was responsible for the introduction of the first Royal Navy craft to be powered by gas turbine engines - His Majesty's Motor Gunboat 2009.

The lot is sold with original warrants and statutes for the O.B.E. and C.B.E., a quantity of official photographs, three portrait photographs including one of Captain Pratt receiving his C.B.E., and newspaper cuttings.
