Algernon Charles Walter Denne was born in Wixoe, Suffolk in 1868. In the 1881 Census he was living at Lypiatt Terrace, Cheltenham with his parents and five siblings; his father was Rector of Brimpsfield and Cranham. In later life he was a Coffee Planter in Mysore for 40 years before retiring to Crowborough where he died in 1938, aged 70 years.
