The Most Honourable Order of the Bath, C.B. (Civil) Companion’s neck badge, silver-gilt, hallmarks for London 1922, with neck cravat and evening collar, in Garrard, London case of issue, extremely fine £220-260

With original bestowal document to Harry Mead Taylor Esquire, Assistant Secretary and Accountant-General Board of Trade, dated 1 January 1923.

Harry Mead Taylor was born in 1872 and privately educated. He entered the Board of Trade Department of the Official Receivers in Companies Liquidation in 1891. He resigned on joining Messr. Allsop & Sons of Burton-on-Trent in 1900. Employed as Manager, 1901-07. On the outbreak of war he was appointed Secretary of Foreign Debts Committee, and in 1916, of Enemy Debts Committee. Controller of Trading Accounts, Board of Trade, 1918. Assistant Secretary for Finance, Board of Trade, 1920-27. Awarded the C.B. in 1923. He died on 19 July 1928.
