302 Privately-produced badges of this type were made in 1901 and 1902 before the official King's Messenger badge was given royal approval in 1905
367 A privately-produced Queen's Messenger badge probably initiated and used by a messenger prior to the 1872 Foreign Office regulation instructing messengers to purchase their badges through the Crown Jewellers. A similar badge was sold by Spink in 1988
