Eight: Corporal R. H. Moy, Royal Army Service Corps

1939-45 Star; Burma Star; Defence and War Medals, these unnamed; General Service 1918-62, 1 clasp, Palestine 1945-48 (S/5772808 Pte., R.A.S.C.); Korea 1950-53, 1st issue (S/22520603 Cpl., R.A.S.C.); U.N. Korea 1950-54, unnamed; Army L.S. & G.C., E.II.R., 1st issue, Regular Army (S/22520603 Cpl., R.A.S.C.) mounted for display; together with Dunkirk War Veteran’s Medal and Norfolk Regiment cap badge, medals with some contact marks and edge bruising, very fine and better (10) £240-280

The Number S/5772808 was allocated to the Royal Norfolk Regiment and given that the lot includes the Burma Star, the Dunkirk Veterans Medal and the Norfolk Regiment cap badge it is highly likely that Corporal Moy served in the 2nd Battalion Royal Norfolk Regiment, which fought in France and Belgium in 1940, were evacuated from Dunkirk; were then in Burma and fought in the bitter battle of Kohima and were disbanded in 1948.
