Pair: Lieutenant R. P. Speirs, 2nd Battalion Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders, killed in action, France/Flanders, 23 April 1917

Ronald Patrick Speirs was born on 3 April 1897. He was educated at Sea Bank, Almouth and Fettes College, 1910-14. He received a commission in the 3rd Battalion Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders on 6 August 1914. Attended R.M.C. Sandhurst, February-July 1915. Serving with the 2nd Battalion, 2nd Lieutenant Speirs was killed in action on 23 April 1917. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Arras Memorial and in the Sandhurst Memorial Chapel. He was the son of the late Peter Alexander Speirs, of Bonjedward, Jedburgh, Roxburghshire. With a quantity of copied service and other papers.
