Daniel McCallum was born in Ardrossen, Ayrshire, lived in Stevenston and enlisted at Ardrossen. With the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 9 July 1915 - entitled to a 1914-15 Star. Serving with the 11th Battalion he was killed in action, France/Flanders, on 23 April 1917. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Arras Memorial. With copied casualty details and m.i.c.
